Sydney based hip hop group K1 (Konnected as 1), are an amazing example of dedication towards music,friendship and success. Group members 2 Deep, B Wise, Egasm and Young Glove, all met at a young age of 10 when they were part of an African Australian community, and as they grew older, their bond grew tighter and they started performing together. The name came about as they tried to find different ways to describe their unity amongst each other as friends and business partners.



Already creating a different approach to their local urban scene, this group promises to be a big hit within Australia as one of few rap/hip hop groups. K1's dedication towards being part of the small minority of African Australian musicians recently won them the award for best Male hip hop/rap group 2008 from the 1st African Australian Awards followed by best male music video in 2010 for their debut single “Where you wanna go”. There were many other contestants in the category, but K1 grabbed the awards with all of the work that they had done in the past 5 years of being together, constantly creating buzz through their music which shed a light on the not so popular topics of representing the city you grew up in at the time. Songs Like S.Y.D (06), One of the same - straight outta Liverpool (07),and where you wanna go (09) all displayed this and set an instant trend through the local Sydney hip hop scene which has exposed K1 as a group with their own identity.



Notably, K1's name often rings two types of bells, whether it be a song that has gained major buzz or their often hi energy filled performances which lead them to be named one of the best live acts of 2007 in the hip hop genre (3d magazine). And in accordance has landed them front liner shows with international acts such as - Flo Rida, Ja Rule, GZA (wu tang), The cool Kids, kid cudi, Bone thugs N harmony, 2 face, Kasual, dj Rectangle, PNC and most recently Fabolous & Mario on their Australian tour.



The group has reached the wider audience and their talents are now called for in various cities and states around the country and wider Tasman. Besides playing countless gigs in there home town of Sydney the group have touched the stages of Surfers paradise, Melbourne, Canberra and most recent made promotional appearances in Auckland New Zealand.
