Born Matthew Murphie aka Murph Derty; in Sydney, Australia. Murph grew up with a passion for hip hop. He started rapping at a young age and was determined to do all that he could to hone his craft, and in turn take out all opposition.



He began building his name and experimenting with batte rapping. Battling any rapper who he believed was competition, not only to gain credibility but to send the message out that he couldn't be stopped. Shortly after that, he started focusing on writing songs, and putting all his energy and time in to studio sessions. He has cited 50 Cent, Eminem, G-Unit, Jadakiss and Notorious BIG as major influences, and with this influence you can certainly see 'Murph Derty' has a similar persistence in the game and is on par with the fierce flow that has been accredited with these artists.



Murph has become 1 of Australia's most consistent hip hop artist's. Releasing more material then any other hip hop artist in Australia to date. Generating solid interest, by releasing mixtape's in to the mixtape circuit and through online resources.



Murph took it upon himself to build a foundation for his passion, and eventually putting back into his career with true business ethic. He successfully has built his own recording studio and photo studio. He has also took it upon himself to experiment and learn how to use both these tools to the best of their ability. So all that is required is at his own fingertips. Along with this he acquired his own team ‘Well Connected’. To be involved in his career assisting with photo shoots and video shoots.



Murph Derty has a style that has separated him from his Australian counterparts. He has a sleek flow that has proven easy for others to try to imitate, but definitely hard to truly replicate. At a young age Murph has a big career ahead of him with a diehard ethic and a killer knack for song writing. Murph is determined in turning his name into a respected, solid product.
