PUBLISHED:  Mar 21, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
The Swedish indie pop-, rock- and psychband LA FLEUR FATALE go to California, release new mindbending EP and go back home with a 60 minute documentary about their roots. Between April 22:nd and May 6:th they will travel all over California

La Fleur Fatale is a band from the Swedish small town Linköping that after they sprung from the remains of their old band released their debut (Night Generation) album in 2007 followed by their second one (Silent Revolution) in 2009. More recently they released a four track EP (Share The Love) in the end of 2010. IN Swedish press they have not gotten a lot of attention, however, their music was used in a nation wide tv campaign (TV4 Sport) that ran for 6 months and they played live on the nationwide TV show Nyhetsmorgon. The biggest radio station in Sweden, P3, also aired a full concert last summer and the leading Swedish music magazine GROOVE in 2009 described them as our nations best kept secret.

It was, not surprisingly, in the US that the bands melodys was embraced the most. The leading rock magazine Classic Rock Magazine gave both their albums rave reviews and La Fleur Fatales music was soon heard on over 80 US college stations. The band toured Germany, The Netherlands and the UK and several campaigns in the US used their music to brand themselves in different ways like American Airlines, Eddie Bauer, Six Flags, Kaiser Permanente, AMC TV and tv series like Peak Season on Canadian MTV and Brew Masters on Discovery. The grand total of people that have been reached by the bands music, over 200 million.

This success overseas mad the band go to NYC last year for a handful shows and some radio appearences and that trip was made into a short documentary about the band (Share The Love). But now, the real reason for this, a bit too informative press release. On April 22:nd the band once more fly over to the US, to California, followed by a four man camera crew and will set foot on Swedish soil again on May 6:th. Their management have since the visit to NYC planned this trip and have prepared an epic journey for the for Swedes. The synopsis reveal little but is food for great hopes:

"The band then embarks on a journey travelling through California meeting different people, great 60's n' 70's bands and personalities that all played a big part in making the late 60's into what it was both musically and spiritually. They also dig into the political connection between then and now with the 99% movement and are lead through this strange trip by their manager who without revealing their next stop, calling in the next address, takes them on a two week voyage through California to not only discover their roots but also themselves."

On this trip the band will do shows in Los Angeles (where they will open for the legendary Strawberry Alarm Clock), San Diego, Oakland and Sacramento and they also release a brand new EP, "My Dear Sorrow", that will be available worldwide (iTunes, Spotify etc.) on May 1:st.

This documentary is endorsed by the leading rock magazine Classic Rock Magazine, Sweden's music magazine GAFFA, the Scandinavian music distributor Sound Pollution and the American company Steve Clayton USA and its scheduled to be done by fall 2012. When the trip starts in April you can follow in the bands fotsteps through desert and through sand, and wish you were there too.
