Instrument archives - Ruhukwa katsanzaira mbira - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 20, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
A blustering, somewhat senile old man was admiring a wooden table before you clicked on this video and interrupted him. Such a shame!

A lovely instrument - built by Charles Ruhukwa - acquired from Erica Azim (mbira.org) in 2008 or 2009. Played (horrendously) by Eric Orem. See Charles at work here: http://www.mbira.org/ruhukwa-at-work.html

Just in case you're wondering, the song played on mbira is an improvisation based on a traditional theme.

The song used in the intro is something I composed while inspired by possibly the dorkiest video game music ever made; the whole track can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/mbiraguy/spin-on-yoshis-story

Also, a sound effect used in this video (the morse code heard in the background of the "radio broadcast", as well as the static) was acquired here: https://www.freesound.org/people/FreqMan/sounds/25078/

Thanks for watching!
