1. Name:

Just call me Eppi the King

2. Age:

18

3. Ethnicity:

I’m Mexican and Black. (The Best of Both Worlds)

4. Where did you grew up?

Englewood to any hood. I’m all city but 63rd is my stomp grounds

5. Tell me about yourself and how you became interested in the music industry?

I’m just a young dude who makes hot records! I don’t believe in songs. I always had a love for music. The way it made me feel, and how different records and different genres of music went according to the mood I was in. I quickly realized that it was a song out there for everyone. Everybody had a story to tell and I felt mine needed to be heard. It was actually easy for me to put words together. All I ever needed was a little push in the right direction (108). Once I seen that people acknowledged me locally I knew there was no stopping me, therefore the industry is my next stop.

6. What artist influenced you to rapping?

The artist that had the biggest influence on me had to be Big Pun. I know that may sound cliché for a Latin rappers favorite artist to Big Pun, but he was the epitome of what a Latin rap artist should be. He laid down the blueprint I just swaged it out!

7. How did you become 108 and why?

I had a local group called Redrum Movement Musik. We were making a little noise on the local scene enough to get recognition from some major players in the industry. I was offered numerous independent deals that I turned down, and I went through my fair share of bogus management. I was tired of being misled so I decided to take the deal with 108 that had been on the table for awhile. So I called Big Ez told him I wanted to have a talk with the family and the rest is history! A lot of people ask me why I did it.shit it was fate. IT’S 108 OR NOTHING!

8. What is a typical day in your shoes like?

I work, work, work, work, and work!! The studio is a second home for me, so if you think you’re ready to walk in my size 12 dunks come holla at me! I have a lot of people relying on me so I have no choice but to be focused. All I need is some pour, some sour, my 108 team, and a beat from Noiz boy!!

9. What are your goals in the music industry?

I really want to establish an actual sound for Chicago. We have no Latin artist from Chicago and 108 has come to break the mode. I want to establish myself as a young business man from the streets of Chicago who made it. Success, Longevity, and Respect is what I’m hungry for.

10. In your opinion, is Hip-Hop dead?

No. I think Hip-Hop has evolved, and it will continue to do so. There are so many people this art form touches from so many regions there is no way you can expect the sound to remain the same. Someone will always be out there who is innovative enough to bring a new sound to the Hip-Hop culture (108). I do believe Hip-Hop has lost its underground aspect. Everything is more main stream. It is easier to gain commercial success now; let’s face it everyone is a rapper or producer now. Everyone has a shitty home studio or knows someone who does. They even sell computers with production software installed in it already. That shit is huff, but it just makes me work that much harder to separate myself from the trash HA!

11. What Artist/Producers have you worked with?

I’ve worked with 108, NO I.D and various other local artist and producers throughout the Midwest and west coast.

12. What Artist/Producers would you want to work with?

I will work with anyone who is willing to work with me. I can’t bring anyone back from the dead but if I could I would definitely do a song with Big Pun, Rope 30, and B.I.G all on a Noiz beat.

13. Would you consider making other genres of music?

Nope. I don’t see myself doing anything other than Hip-Hop music.

14. What’s your favorite record that you made?

My favorite record to date is “80’s Baby” even though I’m a 90’s kid.

15. Name your top 5 all time classic albums?

Capital Punishment, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, Life After Death, The Black Album, and Thug Motivation 101. Those are classic albums.

16. What should we expect from you in the future?

You should expect to see 108 on top. I’m going to continue to bring that undeniable crack shit! Wait and see I just hope you’re in-tune with the only movement moving! IT’S 108 OR NOTHING! GET USE TO IT!!
