Reaching an epiphany in prison, Cruna decided it was time to stop messing around and strive for what he wanted. Like many artists, he took the independent route first, selling an older version of his new album out of his trunk.

Noticing his talent, Scarface courted him for Def Jam South, Nelly courted him and so did other labels, but it was Warner where he decided to take his place. Cruna is currently preparing to release "A Hustla'z Story" properly.
