The Chemist are more than just three producers. The Chemist are more like a symbol, a symbol that something great can happen when artists come together for the greater good of "the movement". Grace Starr, Lakaz, & Eclipse began to form a plan in 2007 that is just now coming to life in 2009. Even though individually each producer is incredibly talented, there was always still something that they admired and respected about each others work, the math was simple. The Chemist was formed to give the producers a more versatile sound when shopping tracks to artist, a edge over the competition, no genre goes untouched. Rap, R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, all aspects of production are covered when dealing with The Chemist. In this short period of time that The Chemist have been active as a production team, they have shopped tracks with Yung Buck, Gorilla Zoe, Yung Joc, Rocko, DPG Records (Dogg Pound Gang), Willie the Kid, & La the Darkman , not to mention previous work with artist such as Twista, Layzie Bone, BG, Andy Vargas,and more. Late 2009 the opportunity that the chemist had been working so hard for finally arrived, they captured the ear of Def Jam South president Dj khaled and the Runners and within months they were signed to a production deal with WE THE BEST MUSIC GROUP.
