Yesterday's Wine featuring Just Plain Trouble - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 01, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
One of Yarnbench Nashville series.
The band is a trio called Tom Buller and Just Plain Trouble. Song is Yesterday's Wine, written by Willie Nelson. They played in the afternoon of May 24, 2011, at the Whiskey Bent Saloon on Broadway in downtown Nashville, with very few people in the bar making for great sound.
I tried to make a film that captures the mood of their singing, playing, and a possible interpretation of the lyrics in the song. It tells a story about different travelers and ramblers in the areas of east Nashville around the Cumberland River banks. One year ago, the east bank was flooded and many encampments were swept away. The river swallowed the tales of those transients and travelers, along with their possessions, and it was all borne along in the moving, murky water of yesterday's wine.
