Lilli Lehmann - Du Bist Die Ruh (1907) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 18, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
The legendry 19th century soprano, Lilli Lehmann sings Schubert's "Du Bist Die Ruh" for Columbia, on July 2nd, 1907. Fritz Lindemann at the Piano.

Like other Lilli Lehmann postings I posted before, This is a part of the 1929 Memorial Album of Lehmann made in Japan. It's all dubbed from the masters, and the sound quality is very dim. But still, her voice is very good despite the fact that she was 60 years old (!) when she recorded this.

Played on my Victrola with Mica Soundbox.
