WE BELIEVE IN GOD

I got the idea for this song when I spent time alone in a monastery. I was thinking of Martin Luther and 500 years of Reformation. At the same time, I had thoughts of all the unrest and wounds of the world. I wanted to write of God’s faithfulness to us, in the past, present and future – standing on the Christian principles of faith, hope and love. When we recorded the song I started to think that it would be great to have Christian artists from different places sing along, as a global confession of faith! The problem was, we just had a few days left to get everything together…

Amazing how artists from all continents, many denominations and generations responded within days. I am so blessed to be a part of this group. Brothers and sisters living the faith, holding the torch high where they are, singing and praising God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Die Idee für dieses Lied kam mir, als ich etwas Zeit allein in einem Kloster verbrachte. Ich dachte an Martin Luther und 500 Jahre Reformation. Zur gleichen Zeit kamen mir Gedanken über all die Unruhen und Wunden der Welt. Ich wollte von Gottes Treue zu uns, durch alle Zeiten hindurch, schreiben – gegründet auf den christlichen Prinzipien des Glaubens, der Hoffnung und der Liebe. Als wir den Song aufnahmen, dachte ich, es wäre großartig, ihn mit verschiedenen christlichen Künstlern gemeinsam zu singen – als ein globales Bekenntnis unseres Glaubens! Das Problem war: Wir hatten nur noch ein paar Tage Zeit, um alles zusammen zu bekommen...

Es war geradezu wunderbar, wie Künstler aus allen Kontinenten, vieler Konfessionen und Generationen innerhalb weniger Tage reagierten. Ich bin wirklich gesegnet, ein Teil dieser Gruppe zu sein. Brüder und Schwestern, die den Glauben leben und ihr Licht dort, wo sie stehen, hochhalten, und Gott – dem Vater, Sohn und Heiligen Geist – Lob singen.
