For me, he was like saying that the girl and the used-to-be space of that girl in his life is all gone. But he had been seeing her face though she wasn't really there, that's why he battles in his mind if it's true or not. But if you think, "time and space" is what it should be, then you can just use that lyrics, no biggie :D And also, during the bridge, I'm still not sure if both days should be "daze" instead, so I only fixed the part I'm sure of.
