March 31 1955, Born on this day, Angus Young, AC/DC. AC/DC are the fifth-best-selling band in US history with over 70 million albums sold.

April 1 1989, The Bangles went to No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Eternal Flame', also a No.1 in the UK and the biggest selling single of 1989 in Australia.

April 2 1968, Jimi Hendrix appeared at the Paul Sauve Arena, Montreal, Canada. He finished the nine song set with his cover of "WIld Thing,"

April 3 1956, Elvis Presley, appeared on ABC-TV's 'The Milton Berle Show' live from the flight deck of the USS Hancock in San Diego, California. He performed 'Heartbreak Hotel', 'Shake Rattle And Roll' and 'Blue Suede Shoes.

April 4 1915, Born on this day, Muddy Waters, the king of Chicago blues. Recorded 'I Just Want To Make Love To You', 'I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man', 'Got My Mojo Working,' and was an inspiration to an entire generation of rock n rollers and future blues stars.

April 5 1985, At 3:50pm GMT, over 5,000 radio stations worldwide aired the charity single by USA for Africa 'We Are The World'. The single went on to be a No.1 in the US & UK, and most everywhere else with the possible exception of Lower Slubutka.

April 6 1929, Born on this day, winner of four Academy Awards for his film work and ten Grammy Awards for his recordings, André Previn. Happy 85th birthday André!
