Got a call from Smokey askin' if I was available for a Saturday night at Woody's River Roo, with the old members of The Dakota Rose Band, that I played with for several years....Now, playing under the different name, with some rotating players, but it's always a Great Time with High-Quality Pickers...!!!

Again, one of those, Show-Up, Plug-in, and Play gigs.... no rehearsal, no set-list.... No Guarantee that I'm gonna have a CLUE about how a bunch of the songs that Smokey is calling are supposed to be played....!!!

By and large, though, I was amazed at how well we sounded - shoot, we haven't played together in forever, but everyone always seems to have an Extra-Special Good Time when we all get together to pick... There's that extra confidence, relaxation, and enjoyment that comes with picking with people you Respect, Appreciate, & can Communicate with while playing....!!! What A Joy!!!!

Sherman Pope ran sound for us and came up to sing a few songs with us - Good Job on both accounts...

Then, Smokey's daughter, Danielle, came up to sing a couple of New Country songs and brought the House down...!!!! With the Great Job SHE did singin', she sure did deserve a Bass Player who was more familiar with the songs she was performing....!!! DOAH...!!!! Sorry 'bout that, darlin'....

Another Massively Enjoyable Evening for me, courtesy of Smokey Daniels, Randy Truman, Jason Scott, all their families and friends, assisted ably by the capacity crowd at Woody's, dealin' with the heat & humidity, in order to keep partyin' with us....

Whoo-Hoo...!!!!
