Recording sessions by Columbia took place in the chapel on 8 & 9 July 1930. Only two records were deemed suitable for issue, and the other test pressings that were recorded were not issued. Test pressings were usually destroyed, but by a stroke of good fortune, three of them (including the one presented here) survived. Richard Jeffrey-Gray, owner of the professional sound company www.hoxa.net, undertook their audio restoration and then generously donated them to the Archive.
