Gram Parsons Emmylou Harris "Jambalaya" Live 1973- Bijou Cafe- Philadelphia - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 10, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
(Fast forward first 1min. Long introduction sorry)

Worth the wait. Although this recording is rough, it represents Emmy's (now) long standing show-closing take on Jambalaya. This band gets downright swampy with a guest harp player sitting in and juxtaposing the steel and lead guitar.

Live recording believed to be 10/16/73
Tour for the GP album.

After wearing out his welcome hanging out and doing drugs with the Stones throughout 1971, Gram returned to the US at the end of the year intent on recording his first solo album. On the recommendation of buddy Chris Hillman, Parsons went to hear a young female singer in D.C., Emmylou Harris, and was so impressed, he asked her to join him on his album on the spot. However, it was almost a year later before Parsons was ready to actually start recording. The resulting album, GP, was released in early 1973. Although the album was critically acclaimed, it was generally ignored by the public, as was the tour to support the album, with his band dubbed The Fallen Angels.
