Magnificent MAGNAVOX Hi-Fi AM Radio w/ Phono Jack Circa 1955 - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 06, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Here's a beautiful & great sounding AM radio from the mid 50's that's somewhat scarce. It's very unusual that it's not one of the usual All American Five radios most often seen. This chassis features 6 tubes with a pair of 35C5's in push-pull configuration giving outstanding audio performance combined with a selenium rectifier instead of a tube rectifier. It features 2 rather large speakers in the grill (I believe 6" each) & it sounds REALLY nice for a tabletop AM radio! It has a phono jack on the underside for adding an aux changer. All the caps have been replaced in this radio for optimum performance. These are well worth seeking out for yourself. This, without a doubt, is one of the best sounding tabletop AM radios from the 50's.

I hope you've enjoyed viewing another piece of 50's history. Stay tuned as I bring you more in the near future (after my garage is cleaned out of course! My wife is pissed because she can't park her car in there!!)
