My Favorite Robot Records expands its sights once again and joins forces with San Francisco's, Dead Seal, an enigmatic and talented musician and producer who it seems is set for big things....

Producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dead Seal AKA Derrick Boyd has been on the scene for a number of years, releasing a debut album on maverick West Coast label Auralism and building a reputation for his energetic live performances. But it seems that his time in the international spotlight is about to arrive with some of the coolest labels around flocking to him for remixes and productions: Boyd has recently been drafted in by Damian Lazarus for remix duties on Crosstown Rebels, is set to record a full length album for Jonny 'Art Department' White's No19 Music label and has been snapped up by kings of Canada, My Favorite Robot for this superb new single.

The 'Goldemine' single release opens with the original version, an emotive and melodic slice of deep electronica come house that showcases Dead Seal's heartfelt vocal delivery. The recording is stripped and uncluttered yet possesses a warm and depth generated by his subtle layering and downright good song writing, quality stuff.

The first of the mixes comes from Droog & Inxec, a pair of producers that should need little introduction. They take the original of 'Goldemine' and develop it into a hypnotic tech workout that retains the feel of the original songs whilst adding a retro inspired electronic feel.

Next up we have the superb Sid le Rock at the remix controls who journeys into the realms of spacey and mesmerising house with a version that breaks apart the vocals and delivers an ethereal, pulsing track that is part floorfiller and part ambience masterwork!

The penultimate mix comes from the talented and prolific Adultnapper, who will release an EP on MFR later this year under his lightbluemover moniker. Here he reworks 'Goldemine' into a deep and dubby house mix that draws on tight percussion and bass to form a superb soundbed for Boyd's vocal.

Finally we have a digital only exclusive with Boyd's own extended 'Latenight Goldemining mix', taking the original and giving it a drawn out arrangement that works a treat.
