DESCRIPTION:
A few years ago I took part in a concert series with some wonderful Australian singers, paying tribute to Joni Mitchell - a singer, composer, artist who has been so inspirational to so many people. In my formative years I spent many, many hours listening to Joni. The title track from the incredibly rich album Hejira, is one of the songs I chose to sing during that series and I have since kept it in my repertoire. With great respect for this incredible artist, here is "Hejira", performed at SIMA, Sydney in 2013 with Matt McMahon on piano, Zoe Hauptmann on bass and Tim Firth on drums.
