GARY BURR - BEHIND THE HITS EPISODE 9 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 28, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Gary's another one of those just ridiculously talented guys. A 2005 inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, he's had thirty-two top forty hits, twenty-four top tens, and fourteen number ones. He's been named an ASCAP, Billboard, and NSAI Songwriter of the year. And now he's playin' with freakin' Kenny Loggins! He, frankly, makes me sick. And yet he was cool enough to invite me to his mansion on a hill in Nashville. Well, it seems like a mansion to me. But I was raised in a barn. That's why the door's open. We talked about playing with Pure Prairie League, Carole King, and Ringo Starr, about his cool hit with Patty Loveless ("I Try to Think About Elvis"), writing "That's My Job" for Conway Twitty in the days following the death of his father, and about the business of music.
Originally aired on the American Forces Radio Network in the summer of 2011.
