The Importance of Performing Live & Playing Out - Lorna Flowers - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 18, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Lorna has written mostly in the pop and country genres, with her most frequent successes being in country music. After being voted NCM magazine Country Songwriter of the Year in 1998, and having several songs hitting the European Country Radio charts (including 3 #1 songs and several top 10s), Lorna began to work out of Nashville as often as possible. She started by writing with name and hit writers such as Bob Welch (ex Fleetwood Mac), Hall of Fame writer Roger Cook, Grammy Winner John Peoppard, Jim Femino, Joie Scott, Dwight Liles, Michael Puryear and many others. She finally moved to Nashville in 2004.
Gaining a staff writing deal in May 2005, Lorna continued to write with name and hit writers such as Brian White, Jon Robbin, Kirsti Manna, Tim Johnson, Arlos Smith, Steve Dean and others. Unfortunately the publishing company she was signed to closed its doors in 2006 with the serious illness of its owner, but Lorna has continued making strides since, with her own independent publishing company, catosongs.
In 2007, Lorna had another 'first' with a #1 song in Australia (and #2 in Poland) via Lucie Diamond's recording of "Don't Even Think About It" (written by Shelley Jacobson and Lorna Flowers), and had her first US cuts in 2008 (adding to her 40 cuts worldwide) with world renowned Bluegrass artist Kathy Chiavola and LA artist Heather Wilkins.
Lorna has also been producing demo sessions and projects since 1997, being co-producer on Sue James' UK debut "5 Stars And The Moon" which garnered Best Album nominations in both major UK Country awards. She was also the producer of Blue Orchid's 2003 UK release "Slow Down For A While", which also gained a Best Album nomination in the UK Country Radio Awards in 2004 (and a nomination as Best Single for the title track, co-written by Lorna with Bob Welch).
Bringing all her studio and songwriting expertise together, Lorna has now set up her own demo production company -- Lorna Flowers Productions -- and is looking forward to the opportunity of helping you get the best demo recording for your song and/or working with you on an artist project using Nashville musicians of the highest caliber, all of whom have worked with many major label artists and in several genres (pop, rock, country, blues, bluegrass etc). She can also critique your song so that it is in the best possible shape to suit the market you are targeting.
