Early Disc Ragtime! "Happy Days in Dixie" - Xylophone solo: Harmony Record no. 530: ca.1902 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 15, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
First thing's first, it's hard to get one of these early Harmony discs with the abnormally holes to play on a standard (not Standard) sized disc player. But staying true to the era, I did play it on a machine from the original time period, my 1906 Columbia Sterling BI Disc Graphophone. The piece is a hot two-stepping ragtime version of "Happy Days in Dixie", played on the Xylophone with stomping piano accompaniment. Enjoy!
