I'm using a copy of the audio file from the lead vocal and pitch shifting the note up a major 3rd or in some cases a minor 3rd to create the harmony. The 2 vocal tracks are slightly detuned and delayed to give them a more natural feel. The microphone used in this recording is the Shure SM7B. Here a link on Amazon: http://goo.gl/vXok5f If you are looking for something under $100 the Sure SM57 in an industry standard. I use it all of the time for vocals and most of the drum kit.
