C64 Heart of Africa, Game Title Sheet Music (Dave Warhol 1985) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 03, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
In the early to mid 80s, many of the 8-bit game music composers would play a bit on the piano, and then manually enter those ideas as numerical data into the computer. That's one of the reasons it's interesting to see these pieces expressed as sheet music. Creating sheet music is also my way of enjoying these tunes, all these years later. The Heart of Africa ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_of_Africa ) title theme was especially fun to transcribe, as it jumps between some crazy time signatures (e.g. 15/8).

Similar to his work on Adventure Construction Set, Warhol wrote this title music to be broken up into smaller pieces that could be used throughout the game.

A great set of interviews with Warhol:
