Born Trina Danielle Washington, June 14, 1974 to Dr. Donald J. Washington and Shirlean Washington of Columbus, OH, God knew what He was doing when He entrusted her with the gift of music. When Trina was born, her testimony had begun as the enemy tried to snatch her away from the world. She swallowed amniotic fluid which drowned her lungs and had to be rushed to NICU. Her parents were told that she had a 20% chance of living in a 24 hour period and if she did recover, she would be in a vegetated state for the rest of her life. God did not mandate it so. "Trina" means "pure" which she is in spirit and "Danielle" means "God is my judge" so it was His last say so for His anointed child. God had a special plan for her in which she strives to please Him through psalm and blessing others. Singing and playing at the age of three, Trina was reared in a baptist church that her father currently presides as pastor of the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. Serving as Minister of Music, Trina has played for and with some of the nations greatest including Kim Burrell, Kim McFarland, the late Anthony Harmon, Melvin Crispell and Gary (Lil' G) Jenkins formerly of R&B group "Silk" just to name a few. You will often see Trina with her younger sibling and protege, Donald "DoniJai" Washington who is also featured on MySpace Music and will release their first debut CD in early 2009. With a four octave vocal range and over thirty years experience in the music field, Trina is best known for melting and blending her seemingly flawless petal tone singing, her heavily quartet to sextet vocal arrangements and her smooth yet ecletic chord progressions. She solely gives indefinite musical credits to her father, brother Doni, Rev. Stanley Wood, William "Chipper" Smith, Greg Johnson, Joseph Thrower, Lalah Hathaway, Take 6, Greg Phillinganes, Twinkie Clark and Thomas Whitfield who deeply influences her unique sound, organ playing and singing abilities. Currently holding the titles of songwriter, composer, pianist, keyboardist and best known for being an organist, the world will be hearing about Trina!
