It was a trippy time. People thought Paul MacCartney was dead yet still playing bass with the Beatles. And this was years before zombies and vampires became hip.
CHUCK
That Paul Is Dead rumor was just one of the things the Beatles gave out clues about. Did you hear about the "Ringo has six fingers" rumor?

And what about the hassel John caused by saying the Beatles were bigger than Jesus?
CHUCK
It was the Nineteen Sixties, who wasn't bigger than Jesus. Unless Jesus played for the NFL my old man sure didn't worship him on Sundays.
GREG
If that wasn't bad enough, there was one more event that used the Beatles as scapegoats and once again in a very dark and perverse way.
"Charlie Manson's Bible Stories" appears on the screen as GREG reads from a book on stage.

Once upon a time boys and girls, there was a hippy, well, he looked like a hippy but he claimed to be an Prophet, as foretold in the Bible in the Book Of Revelations.

He was to lead four other angels who were described as having hair as of women...

... and he would lead them into the last battle for mankind, Armongeddon. And these angels, the Beatles, were communicating with him through their latest album, which was The White Album. Since this last war was to be a race war between black and white, even the album's cover was a signal to Charles Manson and his followers. But the songs themselves all had secret meanings. Songs such as Piggies...
The screen shows policemen as pigs.

The screen shows black militants rising up their fists.

And Revolution Nine was a direct reference to the Book Of Revelation. Helter Skelter was to be the end of the world. And as far as Manson's victims were concerned, it was.
