GraveChild started out some time around May of 2001 down in the small, bayou town of Pointe-aux-Chenes, Louisiana and has had many different faces over the years.

When the band first came to be, many of the band members were in other small projects they were called Hammered, a rock cover project from Pointe-Aux-Chenes and Ground Zero, a 90's hard rock/grunge project from Bourg-Larose. In early summer 2001 former vocalist of Ground Zero joined the remaining members of Hammered to form The Core Of Anubis. After many growing pains over 2001 the band come to full force and change the name of the band to GraveChild, named after Black Sabbath's "Children Of The Grave". The music was moderate tempos and melodic guitars and vocals. The band cut an eleven song demo entitled "Solemn Death Display" with Gene Giles at Time Machine Studio in Patterson, LA in 2002. Later and for years playing shows through out the gulf coast and circulating bootleg recordings with a few lineup changes and a much more up-tempo metal groove. In 2005, GraveChild recorded self-released twelve track follow-up with Ron Orgeron at Whorehouse Studio in Thibodaux, LA which was aptly entitled "In Last Rites". But nearly as soon as the album was complete, a different direction surfaced and the members went their separate ways.

But in GraveChild's reprise - the best of both worlds - original members returned, a new member was added, and the five member band was composed of: Benjamin Ledet, guitar; Myles Brunet, vocals; Laine Plauche, drums; Elray Dupre Jr.(Oak Pointe), bass; and John Naquin, guitar.

GraveChild officially disbanded as of 2009 after 8 years. Thanks to all who supported the band and the scene.
