platform to explore the wild side of feminist art-production, combining

performance art, video art, music and action! The GIRL MONSTER series is a

concept by Chicks on Speed and produced by Kampnagel. Curated by Chicks on

Speed. ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:Integration Impossible is

a new interactive compilation of performances, art actions and documentary by

Tanja Ostojic questioning EU migration policies and the notion of terrorism.

Ostojic directly familiarized herself with popular border crossings

strategies that migrants have been using for decades. In order to take

her own rights that she has been restricted from by current EU laws, she

explicitly applied strategies of provoking public sphere and of violation of

law, to gain the right to move freely and live and work where she wants.



Her recent series of works entitled Integration

Project summarizes experiences and investigations related to the situation

of being a wom&1072;n immigrant in Germany. The preceding project Looking for a

Husband with EU Passport was an initial key frame that thematises

gender politics and capitalism and describes the collision between isolation,

poverty and the EU policies of exclusion: to obtain a residence permit for the

EU she posted her nude photo on the Internet in search of an EU citizen

interested in marriage. A brief meeting in Belgrade was followed by the wedding

as a performance act in the media of law.

Tanja Ostojic (Belgrade/Berlin) was born

in Yugoslavia in 1972 and studied art in Belgrade and Nantes (France). She is an

interdisciplinary artist developing and presenting her work intensiv&1077;ly

worldwide, engaged as well as cultural activist, visiting professor, contributor

to the “Art in Migration” magazine (Vienna). She includes herself as a character

in situationistic performances and uses diverse media in artistic researches,

thereby examining social configurations and relations of power. She works from

the migrant women perspective. The approach in her work is predominantly defined

by political position, humour and the integration of the

recipient.

Margit Czenki (Hamburg) is a feminist

film maker, artist and activist. She is showing rare video art works from her

GIRL MONSTER:A cold

fusion, an explosive meeting of matter and anti-matter when the monsters of the

world unite and take over. GIRL MONSTER began as an

audio-fanzine of 62 women and cross-gender artists, released on Chicks on Speed

Records in 2006, from the worlds of music, theory and art, between 1978-2006.

From its initial inception, the Girl Monster philosophy has been to nurture

women/gender artists in finding a new freedom, to be wild and unique, creating a

platform for culture to develop. Girl Monster live events began as a series

at Kampnagel Theatre in Hamburg, presenting lectures, video screenings,

workshops, art performances and concerts, with the GM live concept now migrating

into the wider scope of art institutions and large scale music festivals, like

written, its also an artifact, a frozen and partial monument to an art movement

that was never a movement, or rather was many movements, or impulses, vibrant

The Triple CD compilation GIRL MONSTER Volume 1 on Chicks On Speed Records, celebrates the re-written history and future of womens creative audio outputs, to further invent and challenge the future of music and push the boundaries of sound and pop around the world!!!



GIRL MONSTER tells a rich historical story, from the original girl monsters of punk and post punk to contemporary tricksters and electro-rock pranksters



Female heroes of the late 70ies and early 80ies like The Slits, The Raincoats or Malaria! appear alongside contemporary classics like Björk, Le Tigre, Peaches or Chicks On Speed. But what sets the compilation apart from all the other compilations around the topic of Women and Music is that it is not just a collection of what everybody knows already, packaged under the misleading slogan of Women in Rock, instead this compilation creates a movement of its own, containing 2/3 EXCLUSIVE tracks, showcasing some of the finest (and mostly unreleased) tracks from a worldwide underground network of female musicians, even following in the tracks of some of the classics like Tina Weymouth (Tomtom Club/Talking Heads), Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle), Siouxsie Sioux (Siouxsie and the Banshees), or Ana Da Sliva (The Raincoats) by featuring their latest productions.



This specially priced and packaged 3 CD set contains 60 tracks, (of which 40 exclusively appear on Girl Monster), an 8-page Girl Monster Newspaper with exclusive texts by Lucy OBrien (author of the classic She-Bop), Jason Gross, Stefan Biender, Pil and Galia Kollectiv and Shirley O'Loughlin. Designed by Chicks On Speed and Factor Product. The 3 CD set has a playing time of more than 3½ hours.



Girl Monster was conceived by Alex Murray-Leslie from Chicks on Speed, and realised in conjunction with Anat Ben David and Chicks on Speed Records. Watch out for future volumes.
