Soffy O has just released her third album "Life's A Soap (If You Want It)"on the label Snowhite. Together with Hector de Guerre (Nom de Guerre) and Manne Svensson (The Flare-Up!) she has created a luxurious blend of lazy 80s pop and modern cheese, bringing you straight into a John Waters film. You will recognize the bittersweet sincerity of the lyrics, stories that will make you laugh and cry about the melodramas we create in order to bring some spice into our normal boring lives. The music digs into the spirit of 70s/80s disco acts; Donna Summer, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, or ZE Records artists like Christina. Built on a firm electronic base, references to synthesizer pioneers like Gary Numan and Giorgio Moroder are evident. The performances of Hector Manolo & Soffy O are club oriented but live based, also incorporating new versions of old TOKTOKvs.SOFFYO dance floor anthems. Their stage show has already caused dance floor euphoria on the contemporary club scene.
At the same time Soffy is back again playing with TOKTOK. It was in 1999 that Soffy O hooked up with the old techno stalwarts Fabian Feyerabendt and Nerk for a collaboration that resulted in the two hit singles "Missy queen is gonna die" and "Day of mine" and the release of the 2002 classic TOKTOKvs.SOFFYO album. Plans are being made and new songs are coming soon.
