The Guess Who - Friends of Mine - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 10, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
The fourth track from the Guess Who's 1968 LP, 'Wheatfield Soul'.

'Friends of Mine' is an extremely strange track. The tune is an obvious attempt to sound like Cummings' then idol, Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Doors. The song's vocal riffs are almost identical to that of The Doors' 'When the Music's Over'. That song also most likely gave Cummings the idea to make 'Friends of Mine' a long song ('When the Music's Over' clocks at 10:57). None the less, 'Friends of Mine' is a great tune, and remains a favorite by Guess Who fans. The song is even considered a tad scary by some - courses for courses.
