Led Zeppelin - Four Sticks - Cover by Spare Parts - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 12, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Spare Parts is an amazing Jazz Funk band coming out of Chicago that is comprised of three crazy talented musicians who are melting faces across the US. We have been trying to schedule this shoot for a long time and we had the hardest time getting it booked but I knew it would be worth it once we did. This is the first of 3 songs I was able to capture.

Now Im a huge fan of Led Zeppelin, perhaps even my favorite band of all time. "The Ocean" was one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar when I was 13, so Im pretty critical of anyone who tries to cover them. Spare Parts does an incredible interpretation of "Four Sticks" and its unlike anything youve heard before. Personally I think its a bit risky to cover a Zeppelin tune without a guitar player but Kevin Kozol does a great job behind the keys, tweaking chords and having a little fun with the vocal lines with the Moog. The rhodes is a nice touch too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the effects Colin is using on bass especially the synth bass tones and hes a killer player too. I think JPJ would appreciate Colins orchestrated tones. I have had many debates about the awesomeness of John Bonham, those are huge shoes to fill. Mike Bruno does not disappoint behind the kit. Heavy handed making them toms sound HUGE and with a little extra groove in spots keeps the feel reminiscent of the original but unique enough to be original. All around this is just a great performance I hope youll agree with me. Right after you subscribe to this channel be sure to head over to:
