Soft Airplane was definitely one of my favorite albums of 2008. It's has all the elements I look for in good music. It incorporates dark subject matter, has an excellent experimental side to it, uses a plethora of of unconventional instruments, has weird noises, dabbles in electro, but most of, it's really well crafted.

Soft Airplane incorporates folk, electro and indie rock. It has a very home made, authentic feel. What I mean by that is there is no sense of board room or record execs fucking it up. These songs genuinely feel heart felt. He has a very emotive voice, but doesn't let the emotion weigh the tracks down. This album as a very care free vibe to it.

Chad also designs all his own album art and does his own video animation.

Anyways, to sum things up, this album is great. It gets better with each successive listen. It'll break your heart and then kiss it better. It has boundless imagination and mystique. It's intelligent and well thought out. The only minus on here is at the very end of the album, where it meanders it superfluous noise territory.

Indie rock fans everywhere must seek this out.
