BABA SISSOKO , MAMANI KEITA e SOURAKHATA DIOUBATE
Due luoghi del Sud del Mondo entrambi depositari di tradizioni millenarie fondate sulle forme artistiche umane più semplici e quindi più profonde : le voci e le percussioni.
Le voci come comunicazione ed espressione : così come le voci dei griot portano le notizie nei villaggi sperduti della savana, i canti di lavoro delle donne salentine scandiscono il duro lavoro nei campi. Le percussioni come battito vitale della terra e delle cerimonie : così come i tamburi africani fungono da veicolo di comunicazione e di transe nelle cerimonie tribali, il battito del tamburello salentino scandisce da tempi immemori le cerimonie di guarigione dal morso della taranta e portano fino a noi i ritmi dei riti dionisiaci. Un incrocio al Sud quindi, per un incontro originale e coinvolgente in cui la pizzica tarantata incontra i ritmi africani, la frenesia dei tamburelli dialoga con il talking-drum, il canto griko si fonde con la tradizione orale dei griot del Mali.

Powerful encounter between Salento and Africa...deep South Italian and african rhythms...tamburine and talking drum...love songs from Salento Region and griot's oral tradition.
Two different places in the world both located in the South, in the same vein linked by ancient Traditions founded on human artistic forms, the simplest and therefore the deepest : Voices and Percussions. Voices as expressions and communication, the Griot's voices spread the news in the most Distant villages of the Savana, as the working chants of Salento women give some relief during their long working hours in the fields. The Percussions as vital beat of the earth and the cerimonies. As the African drums act as the Communication and trance vehicle during the Tribal cerimonies. The beat of Salentino's tambourine, articulates since distant times, the healing cerimonies of the Taranta's bites and make us re-live again the Dionisio's rituals through their rhythms. A South intersection then, for an original and engaging encounter, where the Pizzica Taranta meets the African rhythms. The hectic sound of Tambourines converse with the Talking-drum, the Griko chant melts with the oral tradition of the Mali's griots.
