Music of Salento Italy - Tarantella Pizzica from "The Zimbaria" - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 29, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Music of Salento Italy, the Zimbaria Group playing an excelent traditional Italian sound, very folk music coming from the inside of Grecia Salentina called Pizzica, it sounds as the Tarantella of Napoli but with some several differences but the essence it's the same the Tarantula beats someone and start the music... I know it's a little large (almost 10 minutes) music but enough to people who loves the traditional sound from Italy

Zimbaria also executed the pizzica Kalinitta with a customized intro something like Rap Pop music played with tamburello (drums) and guitar, Zimbaria Group from Lecce did a great job, pure live music (musica di piazza in Italian). The song Kalinitta is one of the most popular traditional folk song of Grecia Salentina (Lecce's province) and also one of the most beautiful taht i liked it.

A great Music of Italy executed by the Zimbaria Group at the "Sagra Uliata" in Caprarica di Lecce, small and cool town in Lecce South of Italy awaiting for Notte della Taranta 2011 in Melpignano.
During the Italian summer time we have a lot of this small town party called SAGRA with local traditional folk music of Italy, Italian food, girls, fun, party and great environment to have fun.
A lot of fun and party with the ZIMBARIA group, great music, dance, folk time and excelent food at the Sagra of Caprarica di Lecce http://www.italianbusinessguide.com/

ITALIAN SAGRA - FOOD AND MUSIC
In Italy, a sagra is a local festival, very often involving food, and frequently a historical pageant and sporting events.
The various sagre almost always have their origins in old country fairs or similar entertainments, but many of them now aim at visitors or even foreign tourists, and some, like the SAGRA ULIATA, had lapsed for many years but have been recently revived.

A sagra is often dedicated to some specific local food, and the name of the sagra includes that food; the array of gastronomic specialties covered across Italy is amazing: for example, we find a Sagra della Rana (frog) at Casteldilago near Arrone, a Sagra del Pane (Bread), Pesce (Fish), Anguria (watermelon) a Sagra della Cipolla (onion) at Cannara, a Sagra della Melanzana ripiena (stuffed eggplant) at Savona, a Sagra della Polenta at Perticara di Novafeltria, and so on. Among the most common sagre are those celebrating olive oil, wine, pasta and pastry of various kinds, chestnuts, and cheese.
