*"The dream of a butterfly," a picturesque metaphor for love
The fifteen pieces that the ethnic fusion band, the Second Moon and Lee Bong-geun have created, will meet the audience.
With the motif of the most popular pansori Chunhyangga, the musicians sing about "true love" that has lost its value in contemporary society. The butterfly has been a symbol of love for a long time; as flowers and butterflies meet and create relationships, men and women also bear a relationship to each other out of love. In the novel Chunhyangjeon, the male character, Yi Mongyong, is a butterfly and the female character, Chunhyang, is a flower. Yi Mongryong tells Chunhyang, "Come here," and she responds, "You should visit me."
The concert expresses various sentiments of their love--from their first encounter to farewell along with nostalgia and memories--with their music. It increases the completeness of the theatrical work, with the help of the representative director Park Geun-hyeong. It presents the modern interpretation of a traditional pansori Chunhyangga, with the Irish band The Second Moon playing drums.
