DESCRIPTION:
I was watching Christy Moore's dvd, Live At The Point 2006, the feature where he does commentary over top the concert. Somehow, listening to him, this song began. I wrote a few lines while listening to him, then finished the song after the dvd ended.
MY FATHERS KEEPER
In wonder now, I turn for home
The mysteries grown deeper
The sky is clear after the storm
I fall into this feeling
Soaked again, my steaming brow
I am my fathers keeper
No thunder now, Im close to home
The sky is clear after the storm
This place, this road, this patch of ground
One bird alone is singing
Youre gone, but here, youre still around
And all the good you gave me
It moves inside my body now
A bell that goes on ringing
One bird alone, a loving sound
Youre gone, but here, youre still around
I am lonely, I am not alone
Im loved and feel a yearning
Im warm as blood, Im cold as bone
The blessed contradictions
I missed you in the reckless times
You kissed me in the learning
The blood can bring a warmth to bone
And lonely, I am not alone
This place, this road, this patch of ground
One bird alone is singing
I thought you gone, youre still around
And all the good you gave me
It lives inside my body now
A bell that goes on ringing
One bird alone, a loving sound
Youre gone, but here, youre still around
1st verse again
