NOTE: This video is for the original Platform M controller. Not for the Platform M+. Be advised that some functions may be different if you have a Platform M+.

If you want to know how to select the DAW mode on the Platform M MIDI DAW controller without an optional Platform D or Platform D2 LCD display, this is the right video for you.

The Platform M is a MIDI control surface for producers, engineers and musicians who want the hands on control of a mixing console and the flexibility of modern “in the box” digital music production within a smaller physical workspace.

The Platform M integrates with most popular Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Mapping presets for Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton Live, ProTools, Logic, Reason, Studio One, Bitwig, Sonar, Samplitude and Reaper are loaded at our factory. Mackie Control or HUI protocols provide seamless interfacing with your DAW’s functions.

Obviously, it's a bit easier to select the DAW mode if you can see the names of each DAW on an LCD display, but it's also pretty simple to select the DAW mode without the display if you know the DAW sequence on the Platform M.

When you first turn on your device, you will find that the SEL (Select) buttons on channels 6, 7 and 8 light up.

Press channel 6’s “Sel” button and channel 7’s “Sel” button to scroll through the DAW list, and then press the “DAW” channel 8’s “Sel” button button to make your selection.

The LED indicator lights located at the top of each channel next to the encoder knobs will indicate the DAW selected.

The sequence is as follows:
Channel 1 LED: Nuendo
Channel 2 LED: Cubase
Channel 3 LED: Logic Pro
Channel 4 LED: Samplitude
Channel 5 LED: Ableton Live
Channel 6 LED: Pro Tools
Channel 7 LED: User define
Channel 8 LED: Reaper
Channel 1+2 LEDs: Studio One
Channel 3+4 LEDs: Reason
Channel 5+6 LEDs: Bitwig
Channel 7+8 LEDs: Sonar

Again, press channel 6’s “Sel” button and channel 7’s “Sel” button to scroll through the DAW list, and then press the “DAW” channel 8’s “Sel” button button to make your selection.
