The original track is a banger with hard-hitting drums by ?uestlove, subtle electronic influences in the beat and a vocal sample off Joeski Love's 'Pee-Wee's Dance' from 1986 in the chorus, scratched by DJ Jazzy Jeff. DJ Devastate reworked this song into a complete new vibe, but still matching the raw lyrics by Black Thought, Dice Raw and Peedi Peedi.

A floating dreamy beat complements the hard drums with the addition of new samples to recreate the hook, no doubt inspired by DJ Premier's scratch-only choruses consisting entirely of multiple vocal samples.
