AKAI MPD24: D-Wiz of BPos make an instrumental beat for Z-Man - Cupcakin remix contest on his MPD 24 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 08, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Here's some live footage of D-Wiz (of the San Francisco rap/hip hop group BPos, which also includes emcee/rapper Goodword and DJ Johnny Venetti) making an instrumental beat on his AKAI MPC skeleton, the AKAI MPD 24. He does all his work at BPos Studios, in the Mission District of the San Francisco Bay Area. He uses Cubase 5, with Kontakt 4 and Propellerhead's Reason 5 with Rewire. He also has Digidesign Pro Tools 8 with an M-Audio keyboard and Apple Logic Studio Pro 9. What record did he sample? Well, you'll have to ask him that yourself...

BPos have a new free mixtape coming out September 17th called the Pos Tapes Vol. 1. The mixtape represents the gritty underground Bay Area hip-hop sound that BPos has been brewing. It features production from Bored Stiff's Big Shawn, lyrics from Bay Area rappers from all over the map, including Hunter's Point's Khafre James, Oakland's Otayo Dubb, and I heard even San Francisco native Z-Man (aka Z-Dazzle, aka Z-Mainy, AKA Greedy Z) might even bless a hot track or two. You'll be able to download the mixtape for free, as well as exclusive leaks and singles, from Thizzler On The Roof (http://www.thizzler.com), the Bay Area's source for the latest rap slaps and hip hop heat.

You can preview and buy BPos' latest album, The Upside, in the Thizzler Record Store (http://www.thizzler.com/bpos/) for $10. It's dope as hell, I highly recommend it.
