Project Rotten został założony w lipcu 2009 roku jako projekt solowy Fredrik’a Croona z grupy Menschdefekt. Kiedy muzyk samodzielnie nagrał dwa utwory, zrozumiał że potrzebuje jeszcze kogoś aby zespół można było uznać za kompletny. Po dosyć szybkim skompletowaniu członków demo "Machine made flesh" ujrzało światło dzienne w sierpniu 2009 r. Cztery miesiące później w grudniu tego samego roku ukazała się wydana własnym sumptem EP-ka "Bleed you dry”.
W 2010 roku Ani opuścił formację a grupa uzgodniła, że nie potrzebuje nikogo nowego w składzie, i w ten sposób X/209 i Fredrik pozostali sami aby na swój sposób nadal głosić muzyczny chaos na całym świecie.
Z debiutanckim albumem "Freakshow", zespół jest gotowy bardziej niż kiedykolwiek wcześniej szturmem zdobyć dzisiejszą elektro/industrialną scenę.

Project Rotten was founded in July 2009 as a solo project Fredrik and Croona from the band Menschdefekt. When a musician independently recorded two tracks, I realized that you need someone else to command can be considered complete. At a sufficiently rapid selection of members the demo "Machine made flesh" saw the light in August 2009. Four months later, in December of the same year, was released released on own Studio EP "Bleed you dry”.In 2010 And left the system, and the group agreed that you don't need anyone new in the composition, and so X/209 and Fredrik left alone to make your way continues to preach the musical chaos across the world. With the debut album "Freakshow", the team is ready more than ever before by storm to win today's electro/luring scene.
