DESCRIPTION:
Club MAKAN is a special club in Cairo directed by Ahmed El Maghraby bringing together musicians from across North Africa for tradition and experiment. October 2013 they visited London for the Brunel Institute of Contemporary Middle-Eastern Music and performed at club inégales with Peter Wiegold's notes inégales. Featuring Max Baillie violin, Christian Forshaw sax, Joel bell guitar Martin Butler piano, and Simon Limbrick drums. As ever there were 3 sets: notes inégales/club MAKAN/together!
