DESCRIPTION:
My 6th transcription features one of my favourite modern saxophonists, Casey Benjamin. This recording is a Robert Glasper Experiment cover of the Sade's "Cherish the Day", featuring Lalah Hathaway on vocals. You can hear Casey tearing it up on alto with his effects rig (Delays, reverbs, & a Whammy pedal pitched down a fifth), as well as vocoder/keytar!

Casey and the Robert Glasper Experiment have been a huge musical influence of mine since the moment I heard them. 4 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting them after 2 back-to-back concerts in Toronto. After their marathon sets, Casey took the time to chat and was incredibly humble, & even admitted he and the band were running on only a few hours of sleep on their tour! His unique style and stage presence inspired me to pursue adding effects and expand my own sound. I urge you to check out this band.
