Music video by Nate performing If The Walls Could Talk. Produced by Emeikey. (c) Blakkwood Records 2015.

Roku 1915 začaly brutální masakry a deportace arménského obyvatelstva tehdejší Osmanské říše, přímo řízené vládou Mladoturků, při kterých byly deportovány a vyvražděny přibližně dvě třetiny tohoto křesťanského národa (1,5 miliónů lidí). Drtivá většina světových historiků tyto události označuje za první moderní genocidu. Turecko tyto události ovšem i po sto letech popírá. Bohužel, ani Česká republika dodnes nepatři mezi země, které by tyto tragické události označily za genocidu. Pomožte nám to změnit. Nedejte prostor přepisování historie a lžím. Na více než milión zavražděných nevinných mužů, žen a dětí nesmí být nikdy zapomenuto.

In 1915 the brutal massacres and deportations of the Armenians began in the Ottoman Empire. These massacres were directly orchestrated by the government of the Young Turks and caused
the death of approximately two thirds of this Christian nation (1.5 million people). Majority of the world’s historians consider these events as the first modern genocide. However, Turkey denies
these events even one hundred years after. Unfortunately, the Czech Republic is still not among those countries, which marks these tragic events as genocide. Help us to change it. Don’t let them distort the history. Don’t let them lie. Everyone must not forget about more than a million murdered innocent men, women, and children.

The truth presents itself,
it’s not allowed,
it hurts me to talk about it,
the humiliation hurts the most.
The year 1915,
the Armenians went through hell,
the Turks washed it down with a bath of blood,
with the lies they said to the world.
How long will you keep lying?
I will ask every time,
I can never give up, they justified the right
to exterminate the nation, that innocent nation,
the elite of the state, they deny it, but it was always the plan,
defenseless women, children and elders
led into the heat until their last moments
I perceive day as night,
the light as darkness,
somewhere behind mount Ararat,
the Sun took cover.
Somewhere around lake Van,
they all are still alive,
in the walls of those houses,
which stay empty with the ghosts of the pasts.
Those who survived,
they lost everything,
the holy land which they lived on
for thousands of years.
Those small children, who were told,
that everything will be fine,
hold their mother’s hand
which is now too cold to touch.

I beg you not to breathe,
Close your eyes for the minute,
Mother said to hide,
you crawled under the bed.
The Turkish boots rumble in the house,
mum tries to fight,
With the cross around her neck,
they burn her alive, no chance to survive.
And you can see it,
you can hear her anguish and you know,
that your parents were not the only one's
who were killed for the cross.
All those decapitated children,
those animals enjoy it.
Three thousands years, old culture
and they are destroying it.
The death marches, hunger
and naked girls nailed to the crosses,
they had been raped before that,
time will never heal this.
The people were burnt alive,
for being different,
the pregnant women were ripped apart
they were amused by it.
And if this is still not enough for you,
you can keep denying it.
Deny the genocide,
so it can happen again.
A century with no apology,
the truth will prevail,
nobody can ever forget
about the death of 1,5 million martyrs.
