Braulio was born on September 17 in Silvis, Illinois, a small city located on the west side of the state. The youngest of four began to show an interest in music at a very young age. Music was always present in his immediate surroundings for some of his uncles on his mother's side of the family were musicians. There was music at practically every family function, so it was inevitable that Braulio would also become involved with it. He would listen and observe his uncles in total amazement as they played and sang each song.

Fascinated and drawn to music, he began to have a natural ability to sing. He would sing just about anywhere he got the chance to. After realizing that her son was blessed with the gift of music, Braulio's mother convinced him to join their church choir. Braulio's mother sang with the choir and thought it would be a way of thanking God for blessing him with his talent.

At the age of 14, he joined his first band called "La Nueva Generacion." It was a Tejano band that consisted of kids ranging from the ages of 12-14. They were an energetic and non stop showband who had the opportunity to play at various events and private parties. He left the group at the age of 16 due to creative differences.

This is around the time that Braulio realized that he also had the gift of songwriting. He started to experiment a little while with the group, but he never got the chance to prove to them that he could write. He learned to play the keyboards and began to arrange his own material. He strived to be the best he could be. Braulio practiced constantly to better himself. There were times that he wouldn't go out to party with his friends because he was working on music. He was focused on one thing, on becoming a professional singer in the Latin Market.

Braulio decided to move to Corpus Christi to pursue his dreams. He was determined to form a band and make it big. REALITY hit him hard and he was introduced to the REAL WORLD! Money went by real quick living on his own!! Knowing that Corpus was the home of the late TEJANO QUEEN Selena, he was convinced that he would be able to find musicians in no time. While living in Corpus he made a lot of great friends, but he was never given the chance to join a band.

Ready for another change in his life, Braulio moved to Austin. After feeling a little discouraged by what happened in Corpus, Braulio was determined to join a band in Austin. He found himself meeting an experienced musician who at one time was a member of a Tejano band he had admired since he was a kid. They started to hang out and became good friends. Long story short, they never got a chance to make a band together like they had always talked about. That friend simply chose a different musical journey.

Feeling like a failure, Braulio was thinking about giving up when he received a phone call from a man that was looking for a singer in Pearsall, TX. The man was looking for a lead vocalist at the time and was informed that Braulio was a hell of a singer. Braulio went an auditioned for the group and GOT THE JOB! He was now part of a group. They were called "La Ralea." He performed with them at several gigs. It was fun while it lasted. He was with the group for about 3 months when he called it quits. Braulio was ready to perform his own material and not just cover songs. He had bigger aspirations than just making it on a local level.

Still determined to get into the music business, Braulio entered a singing competition that was being handled by KKLB 92.5 FM a couple of years later. KKLB was Austin's premier Tejano station at the time and they were looking for a TEJANO IDOL. You had to go into the studio and sing acapella. The listeners would choose the winner of the week. Braulio won his initial round and was chosen to be one of the 8 finalists in the event. He was the only finalist that would perform an original song. He decided to sing "Regresa A Mi", a romantic ballad he had written a couple of years earlier. He was nervous as he started to sing because he didn't know how the crowd would react to a song they had never even heard of. To Braulio's delight, THE CROWD LOVED THE SONG! They cheered and applauded as he finished. They liked him so much that he made it to the final round. Well, it was between him and a girl who had invited several friends and family for unconditional support. As they both finished singing, the crowd would go wild. Braulio was nervous for there were no actual judges. The audience would choose the winner. KKLB's Amy O. announced the winner. AND THE WINNER ISBRAULIO! THANK GOD, BRAULIO WON!! He felt like his hard work had finally paid off. IT WAS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!! He signed autographs, took pictures with people and was interviewed by a local TV station. The cool thing was that the winner was chosen based on the audience applause and he had hardly taken any supporters of his own. He won the crowd over and made new fans that night.

Several months later, he went on to audition for a man by the name of David Moreno Sr. David was starting a band and he was in need of a lead vocalist. Braulio sang for him and impressed everyone there at practice. Shortly there after, Braulio became the lead singer for David's new group called "Son De Rey." Everyone in the group had the same goal, TO MAKE IT! Braulio was excited for not only did the group feel like home, but he was now going to be able to actually perform his OWN MATERIAL!! The group accepted Braulio's material with open arms. They had total faith in him, so they started to incorporate some of his songs in their sets. The group recorded two of the original songs later that year.

Braulio hopes to accomplish his goals of MAKING IT BIG!! He wants to not only become a successful singer, but also a hell of a songwriter. He one day wants to produce and have other artists record his material as well. Come and show your support for this dynamic all around performer who hopes to bring something fresh and innovative to the Latin market.
