Brief excerpt from June 26, 2016 concert of the 2016 Season of the Concert Series @ Westwood Library, featuring the Brass Pacifica Quintet: Jason Foltz, Trumpet; Daniel Rosenboom, Trumpet; Paul Klintworth, Guest Horn; Steve Suminski, Trombone; and Chuck Koontz, Tuba

"Yankee Doodles" was arranged for brass quintet by Paul Chauvin, http://www.cimarronmusic.com. This pre-4th of July program included a number of other brass pieces that ranged from patriotic, to traditional American, film and jazz music.

The free public Concert Series @ Westwood Library is founded on the Quartet-in-Residence Program, an innovative musical residency at a public library, which was created in 2014 by the Los Angeles Musical Salon in cooperation with the Westwood Branch Library. This is the first time such a musical residency program has been created in the Los Angeles Public Library System.

Entering its third season in 2016, this year the Series includes two concerts by the Library's Quartet in Residence, the Fiato String Quartet, plus an opening concert by The Upside, and a pre-4th of July concert by the Brass Pacifica Quintet.

From the very first, this series has been a great success, with each concert attracting audiences of 100 people or more. The series brings high quality classical music into the local community while also providing public performance opportunities for rising young professional artists.

Funding for the 2016 Season of the Concert Series @ Westwood Library was generously provided by the following: Friends of Westwood Library; Westwood Homeowners Association; Westwood Village Rotary Club; Holmby-Westwood Property Owners Association; the Los Angeles Musical Salon; Office of Councilmember Paul Koretz, Fifth Council District; and the City of Los Angeles Arts Development Fee Program, Department of Cultural Affairs.
