Meridian Arts Ensemble is perhaps more widely known for playing Frank Zappa's music (having worked with him shortly before his passing in 1993). The band is one of the most adventurous contemporary music groups around and regularly performs works by Elliott Carter, Milton Babbitt, David Sanford, Elliott Sharp, Captain Beefheart, Nick Didkovsky and many others in addition to compositions from within the ensemble.
