The instrumental 'Falling Through Skies' is the final track in 'Walking Through Fire' (CD), the research/production project that Canada Council for the Arts helped fund. This video was created around that instrumental. To create the video I had to find the appropriate footage needed & once downloaded I sifted through approximately 6 hours of vintage WWII film piecing small clips of the B&W together to create a silent movie with a big story. To create a silent picture, each clip had to be muted because all of the films had live commentary embed which made watching like listening to frenzied sportscasters broadcast live during the play-offs. These films were originally shot by totally suicidal news men &/or air force personal which was originally used for newsreels shown in movie houses, on TV networks during news hour & on weekly programs like Walter Cronkite's "The 20th Century". They were also watched by Hollywood film makers. My composition 'Falling Through Skies' was the marker for my silent movie and my guitar is the story teller. Some clips had to be slowed & some had to be sped up to fit the music. I hope you like 'Falling Through Skies', for it is a true story & a part of our history like all that has come before us.
