NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Tower 369-B) In the summer of 1967, brother & sister singing duo, Nino Tempo & April Stevens were toiling within studio 'A' at Gold Star Recording Studios in Hollywood but this session was booked for a solo single intended for Nino entitled, 'Boy's Town'. Having scaled the 'Wall of Sound' the previous year with their Spectorian hit, 'All Strung Out' issued on White Whale, they stayed with that similar formula on this tune. 'Wrecking Crew' member, Don Peake was also providing his arranging expertise for this production. The disc was quickly issued in September of that year and the flip side was simply the backing track without any lead vocals. That instrumental version is featured here and is an excellent demonstration of the musical talents of L.A.'s 'Wrecking Crew' and of the reverberating power of Gold Star's unique, custom built echo chamber. (The vocal version of 'Boy's Town' was first issued as a promotional disc as Daddy Sam #100 and was pressed on both sides. The instrumental version was only pressed on the Tower promotional and stock copies.)
