Bands of America's mission is to create and provide positively life-changing experiences through music for students, teachers, parents, and communities.
Founded in 1975, Bands of America has been making a difference in the lives of young people for over 30 years. Bands of America strives to provide QUALITY avenues for LEARNING and EXCELLENCE in music education for the nation's high school students and directors. Playing to a national audience, BOA's mission is infused with a positive vision that touches lives forever. Bands of America's INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED repertoire of events includes more than 25 annual festivals in more than a dozen states. Among these events are the Grand National Championships, National Concert Band Festival, Summer Symposium, Regional Marching Championships, and one-day musical and leadership clinics. The Bands of America Honor Band of America has toured Europe and Japan and was featured as a 330-member marching unit in the 2005 Tournament of Roses Parade.
More than 270,000 teens, family members and enthusiasts attend BOA events each year with more than 90,000 teens participating. Millions worldwide access Bands of America through award-winning national newsletters (published five times annually), the Web site www.bands.org, video productions, and other print materials.
BOA's efforts have been supported through successful sponsorships, including current partnerships with National Presenting Sponsor, Yamaha Corporation of America; Official Uniform Sponsor, FJM; Official Corporate Sponsor, Wenger Corporation, Corporate Sponsor, Remo, Inc.; Associate Sponsors, J. D'Addario, Vic Firth, and Pearl; Preferred Travel Partners Music Travel Consultants, New Horizons Tours & Travel and Super Holiday Tours; and Strategic Partners Jolesch Photography, Mr. Video, Drum Corps International and WGI. Sponsors have the opportunity to collaborate with each other for "Business to Business" ventures in an effort to further current organizational goals.
