Harrison High School Band

The Harrison High School band program is under the direction of David Vandewalker, Stephen Meyer, and Josh Ray. The band program includes a marching band, four concert bands (Wind Ensemle, Symphonic Band, Concert 1, and Concert 2), three jazz bands (Jazz 1, 2, and 3), a winterguard under the direction of Rick Subel, and a indoor drumline under the direction of Ian Murphy.

1991: Harrison High School opens.



1993: "Blood Sweat and Tears".



1994: "Firebird" by Stravinsky.



1996: "Verdi" / Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Games / First appearance at a Bands of America competition.



1997: "Music of Holsinger".



1998: "Prokokiev" / BOA National Concert Band Festival.



1999: "Porgy and Bess" / Midwest Clinic in Chicago.



2000: "Images of Time" / First finals appearance at BOA - BOA Orlando 6th Place.



2001: "A Day in the Park" / Marching Band selected to participate in the Nokia Sugar Bowl Halftime Show.



2002: "Exodus" / St. Patrick's Day Parade New York City / Marching Band selected to participate in the movie "Drumline".



2003: "Illuminations" / BOA National Concert Band Festival / Grand Champion of the 1st Annual Lassiter H.S. Competition / First finals appearance at BOA Atlanta - 7th Place / BOA St. Petersburg 3rd Place.



2004: "Matters of the Heart" / BOA Massillon Grand Champion / Grand Champion of the 2nd Annual Lassiter H.S. Competition / BOA Atlanta Super Regional 9th Place.



2005: "Metropolis: The Chronicles of Good vs. Evil" / BOA Bowling Green 3rd Place / Grand Champion of the Collins Hill H.S. Competition / BOA Atlanta Super Regional 5th Place.



2006: "Push" / BOA National Concert Band Festival / BOA Murfreesboro Grand Champion / Grand Champion of the McEachern H.S. Competition / BOA Atlanta Super Regional 6th Place / John Phillip Sousa's Sudler Flag of Honor Recipient / Winter Guard - Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Georgia State Champion / WGI Atlanta and Tampa Finalist.



2007: "Luna Sonare" / St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland / BOA Atlanta Super Regional 8th Place / First appearance at BOA Grand Nationals - Finalist 12th Place / Midwest Clinic in Chicago / WGI Atlanta Finalist.
