I was told that looking back would bring a certain death
where the biggest players play for keeps and keep it from the rest.
So without remorse I steered the course and beat'em to the end,
until the Earth was sore beyond the healing that it gave to the trampled on and disposed.

But a death-denying self can't face itself unless
it comes to terms with the destruction that it's left.
Like the Captain that had sworn the gold, but killed his crew instead
with the madness of his own incompetence.

And the mast had broke where the wood had soaked
and the currents test the strength of a manufactured hope.
Then washed away what she forgave and gave it back to man
in the hopes that one day we would understand.

But the big mistake that I've done was deny who I am and who I was
and I swear to you that won't be me anymore.
